The African Elephant is located in the deserts, grasslands, swamps, and forests of Eastern, Southern, and Western Africa.
It is considered to be a species vulnerable to extinction due to habitat loss, hunting for sport, and the ivory trade. To get that small amount of bone, the creatures' life is taken, wasted. I wanted to paint an elephant to raise awareness that a favourite animal of many persons has a large chance of going extinct. Partially because sellers and poachers want to make money off of a white miniature version of the gorgeous creature that will simply end up an a customer's mantelpiece.

A powerful painting.. The black background graphically emphasizes the darkness of the theme..
There are so many things going wrong in this world.. People are so selfish, insensible, and obstinate in their path..
The whole creation "groans and shudders" together under humanity's (and I would add.. Satan's) death grip..
I'm glad there's going to be a resolution to this mess in the end.. God's going to set things straight..
Of course, we should do our part now.. even more so as Christians

I'm actually really surprised that a lot of Christians don't really give a hoot about the environment/animals...
There's something wrong there.. if we believe God made nature and animals, shouldn't we be their protectors, and not destroyers/tormentors?
Especially as we're the ones that messed things up for them in the first place..
